The Abbey of St Edmund, Reborn

We are thrilled to announce, along with our partners at West Suffolk Council and English Heritage, that the Abbey of St Edmund, Reborn project will receive a £7.137m delivery grant from The National Lottery Heritage Fund, contributing to a total project of £9.83m.

The Abbey of St Edmund was once one of the greatest medieval abbeys in England and is now a ruin. It is situated in the free-to-charge Abbey Gardens, which give just a glimpse of the expanse of the former abbey area, and is hidden from the historic town centre and the Cathedral.
